Washington: Spoken in terms of war chess, U.S. President Bush now has to move.
He needs the money. He is the one who ran out of it, he is the one who overspent, he is the one who has become most unpopular because of an unjustified war in Iraq that is ruining the United States of America.Bush´s approval rate is down to 28% (1), two out of three Americans think that he acted „stubborn and unwilling to admit his mistakes“ in Iraq. That´s not funny. That´s bloody real.

So – what happens next? Will the Democrats give away that chance as quickly as they used to do so with any other?
Or will they take their time and chance for thinking about the issue watching the Bush/Cheney Government become even more nervous?
The longer that negotiations on the bill take, the better for Congress. The Pentagon has to improvise funding the troops, this can not go on for long. So Bush has to realize that war is over, sooner or later.
He has no choice. He has to fall back.
Except in case the Democrats doing the wrong thing one more time: compromising fast, where there is no compromise but only victory or failure.

„In the past few days, we have seen what appear to be trial balloons signaling a significant weakening of the Democratic position,“ a letter from the liberal group http://moveon.org/ to Democratic Leader read on Thursday.
„On this, we want to be perfectly clear: if Democrats appear to capitulate to Bush – passing a bill without measures to end the war – the unity Democrats have enjoyed … will immediately disappear.“

That is a serious warning the Democratic establishment in Washington should not underestimate. There is no guarantee for long term existence of a Party that does not do its job.

The American Left did not start the war. The American Left did not build Tora Bora. The American Left did not finance Bin Laden and the Taliban for decades, and they should not let the Americans pay the price for that.
Seyour Hersh found out that the Bush/Cheney Government funded Al Qaeda groups, salafist extremists and terrorist militias (3). They did so with the money of American citizens. Shall that be without consequences? Shall that continue?

The main bill H.R.1591 – which has been debated in the Senate in March 26th – has 2 related bills, RES.261 and S.965.
In S.965 there is this special chapter about Lebanon, SEC. 1706.
It goes:
„Prior to the initial obligation of funds made available in this Act for assistance for Lebanon under the headings `Foreign Military Financing Program‘ and `Nonproliferation, Anti-terrorism, Demining and Related Programs‘, the Secretary of State shall certify to the Committees on Appropriations that all practicable efforts have been made to ensure that such assistance is not provided to or through any individual, or private or government entity, that advocates, plans, sponsors, engages in, or has engaged in, TERRORIST ACTIVITY“(4)

The President vetoed that bill. Does anybody still wonder why?
Why does that strange terror phantom called „Al Zawahiri“ is talking – well promoted as usual – about Democrats, Bush and the war in Iraq at this very point of time (5)? And has anybody in the United States ever heard of that „2 minutes hate“ in a good old fashioned book of a good old fashioned leftist?

You know, there is a growing number of people in Europe and Germany who are believing that there is something completely wrong about the whole „Al Qaeda“ story and September the 11th.
This is not about anti-american sentiments. It is about searching for truth, honour and true friendship between the people of the world.
You can not simply conquer and destroy a country while telling everybody you are saving and serving them.
There were others in the last century who acted like that, but they did not made up such funny stories about it. Terror is not a reason for war.
Evil is not a reason for more evil. That is just flat wrong.

It is up to the American Left to end the war which was started by the American Right. And do not mistake the Right with rights. They are on your side.
You are right. You are the American Left.
So stand your ground, fight for your country and won´t you ever surrender..
